PNW Wedding in the Evergreens

For true PNW enthusiasts like Shi Ya and David, planning a wedding amongst evergreen trees was the perfect fit. These two love the Pacific Northwest outdoors and they really wanted to be able to capture their love for that with their wedding day while also creating a day that was fun and enjoyable for all of their guests. When they found Trinity Tree Farm, they knew they had found the perfect spot. Trinity Tree Farm is located in Issaquah, WA which makes its easily accessible for guests who both live in Washington but also guests who are traveling in from out of state. The tree farm is nestled up in the hills away from the city though surrounded by evergreen trees, mountain lines and valleys. It’s a beautiful venue that lends itself to PNW vibes and easy going wedding days.

They day was sunny and the air was warm. Shi Ya’s bridesmaids went with mismatched jewel tone bridesmaids dresses that paired together absolutely perfectly. A really fun and ecclectic look that when done right, really does look good. If you are planning a wedding and looking for bridesmaids dress inspiration, I’ve got you covered in this blog post right here. They had green accents throughout their day that complimented the loose and organic florals done by Bixby and Pine. Bixby and Pine kept their florals light, warm and relaxed (I swoon over loose and relaxed floral arrangements). Their ceremony took place behind the house in the grass with a backdrop of evergreen trees. Shi Ya’s veil was stunning on this day with the slight breeze and sun shimmering through it. They exchanged incredibly sweet vows and rings and a kiss. A big component of Shi Ya and David’s wedding day was incorporating pieces of their heritage and backgrounds. For Shi Ya that included a Tea Ceremony which took place after their outdoor ceremony. This was so fun to witness and capture and you can tell how special it was to their entire families who also got to participate in it.

We all shared an amazing dinner together, there was dancing and drinks and cake! At the end of their evening, they invited their guests to wave goodbye through a sparkler send off (also another one of my favorite ways to leave your wedding!) It was such a beautiful and easy feeling wedding day and I felt lucky to be a part of it.

From Shi Ya:

The hardest part of having a wedding that exceeded your wildest dreams is finding the words to thank the vendors who made that day a reality, and this review for Gina might be one of the hardest things I’ve had to do.

Long before we were lucky enough to have her as our wedding photographer, Gina was just a PNW photographer I had followed on Instagram, who had the most beautiful portfolio, which I greatly admired. Her authenticity is apparent in her work, and her humor solidified my belief that she would be our dream wedding photographer.

Having Gina photograph our engagement session was the best decision ever. She makes it feel like a fun and memorable experience that made me fall more deeply in love with my husband. Time and time again, Gina has blown us away with her work. Somehow, understands the significance of a moment before you even realize you’d want to look back at that single moment, forever. Looking through our wedding photos really makes us feel like we’ve gone back in time to the best day of our lives. We wanted someone who could honor and respect my heritage and preserve some of the western traditions in our wedding photos, and Gina mastered that. Her photos capture more than moments; they capture the emotions in between the moments with timeless elegance. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer.
