Intimate Airbnb Coastal Washington Wedding

Coastal Washington Wedding with bride and groom kissing with floral arches and pups

Coastal Washington stays true to the preconceived notion of west coast living. It has a very laid-back and relaxed atmosphere to it. There is a huge focus on adventurous outdoor activities and most of the coastal residents spend their weekends hiking, biking and surfing. Coastal Washington is perfect for couples who are looking for a relaxed beach-town vibe for their wedding.

K+K’s Coastal Washington Micro-Wedding

Kelsey and Kevin were referred to me from Mae + Co Creative — a wedding planning company owned by Manda Worthington. I knew that the event would be absolutely stunning, full of intention, detail and be flawlessly planned.

Kelsey and Kevin gave creative freedom to all of their vendors. Which is incredibly inspiring for artists. I knew that this was going to be an amazing wedding.

They rented out a large Airbnb for everyone to stay at and it was only a short walk from the beach where their ceremony would be held.

The walk to the beach was among tall beach grass with only a few other houses in sight and the waves of the ocean were all you could hear. As we got closer, the beach slowly came into view with an endless stretch of coast and not another human in sight- it was absolutely beautiful.

At the ceremony site you could see the gorgeous floral arbor that Brier and Ivy (florist) set up, along with some chairs for their guests. A small boombox played music as the couple and their dogs made their way down the aisle.

After the ceremony, Kevin and Kelsey really just wanted to spend time with their people. They planned a 7 course dinner with a private chef who came and prepared it for them at their Airbnb.

Mae + Co had even set up a beautiful table in the sand outside of the home with string lights and an ornate tablescape.  Kelsey and Kevin shared good food and drinks with their closest friends and family. There was an occasional toast or story that someone would share and they ended the night with some music playing, bundled up in blankets under the stars.

The Details

My favorite thing about Kelsey and Kevin’s wedding were all of the details and set-ups that were provided by the vendors. I was astonished by the designs and was thrilled to be photographing such beautiful creations.

I love when couples add in personal details and have a quality team to ensure they are getting decor that really speaks to them. Having these small touches helps to create a memorable day and adds to the ambience of how you want your day to be represented.

It also gives you the opportunity to distinguish your wedding from others. It is so important to have a wedding that represents you as a couple, and I really think that Kelsey and Kevin achieved this.

Why You Should have a Coastal Washington Wedding

The Washington Coast is rugged and wild and follows suit with the moody PNW vibes that so many people know and love. It has a diverse terrain, including rocky cliffs, sandy beaches and lush forests. If you are looking for a wedding location that has variety this is a great place for that.

There are several activities that you can do on the coast such as kayaking, whale-watching, hiking, and eating fresh seafood.

Additionally, the atmosphere of the beach towns are perfect for a laid-back intimate wedding.

Overall, Coastal Washington is a great place to say “I Do” with your partner.
