Downtown Seattle Washington Wedding

Elizabeth and Nas got married at The Foundry in Seattle, Washington in February. As a Seattle Wedding Photographer, it can be hard to find venues for this time of year with the weather being unpredictable. This venue allows for year-round weddings with plenty of space indoors for events of all sizes. They spent the morning getting ready downtown Seattle. The girls were getting ready at a hotel while the guys spent the afternoon at the Washington Athletic Club. We chose to do their first look offsite on our way to the venue. This allowed for a more city scenic backdrop for them. It was incredibly windy this afternoon. This rooftop made for a pretty cold pit stop on our way to the venue, but these two handled it like champs. I always love a veil for brides, especially when there is some wind to really make it stand out. The Seattle wind delivered on this day! We were able to spend some time downtown Seattle before heading to The Foundry for their wedding ceremony. Because these two opted for a first look, we were able to squeeze in almost all of their portraits before their wedding ceremony. This is one of the major advantages of a first look! When planning wedding days, I always ask my couples where they want to spend their first couple of hours as a married couple - either taking family photos OR drinking and celebrating with their friends and family! When we opt for a first look on a wedding day, it allows the bride and groom to jump right into the cocktail hour when they’re ready. Their ceremony took place indoors, lit by candles and some chandeliers, it gave off an intimate and moody feel. Their ceremony was short and sweet and these two (and all of their guests) were so ready to party. They kicked off their reception with an absolutely beautiful dinner styled by Eventful Moments and catered by Herban Feast. The planning team decorated these tables lavishly with greenery and tall candles, velvet napkins and chocolate treats. Following toasts and a delicious catered meal, these two were ready to dance. I absolutely LOVED the dancing scene set up by their DJ. He brought in some epic party lights and a disco ball that really set the tone for this dance floor. The music was so good and they intermixed hit dance beats with some more cultural music from Nizar’s side of the family. It was so fun to see every person there out on the dance floor (from flower girl to grandma!) Elizabeth’s bridesmaid is also a very talented baker in the Seattle area and created her wedding cake! It was beautiful (and delicious) and that is so special that it was made by such a close friend to her. These two spent every last second on the dance floor with their family and friends. A Coug flag was flown, the song was sung, the drinks were flowing- it was GREAT. Elizabeth’s favorite holiday is the 4th of July, so sparklers were an absolute must for her as a wedding exit. It’s always so important to check with your venue ahead of time if this is important to you as not all venues permit sparkler exits. Luckily, The Foundry allows wedding sparkler exits and they were able to leave their wedding through a tunnel of sparklers. A vintage British car was there to whisk them away at the end of the night. We could see their big smiles waving out of the back window at their family and friends as they pulled away and it was clear everyone there had such a great time. Congrats again Liz and Nas on such a beautiful Seattle wedding day!
