Washington is rugged, wild and absolutely gorgeous - making it one of the best places to elope. There are a variety of landscapes including: waterfalls, mountains, lakes and forests.

Eloping in Washington is an incredible journey, that allows you the freedom to pick the location of your dreams. It also gives you the opportunity to create a day that is true to you as a couple. Eloping grants you the ability to spend some time away from normal life and focus on each other in an intimate setting.

Plan Early

To ensure the beauty of Washington stays intact there are several logistics to consider if you are planning to elope here. That is why it is important to plan early and select your location as soon as possible. Many of the locations mentioned in this article do require a permit. Talk to your photographer to understand what all is required for you to get married in these locations.

Mt. Rainier

I am personally connected to this location because it's right in my backyard! I grew up with this mountain view and now I spend so much time taking couples here in the summers. This location has so many options making it perfect for almost any eloping couple.

Here you can find: mossy forest floors, lakes, mountain tops, and several hiking trails. I am incredibly familiar with this location and know some perfect drive-up locations and hiking spots!

However, the park does span over 236,400 acres! So there are several new locations yet to be discovered too. If you are looking for something new and exciting we can explore together and find the perfect place for you and your partner to elope.

North Cascades

Located in the Northern part of WA, the North Cascades are known for its mountains, glaciers and lakes. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife including bears, wolves, and more than 200 bird species. There are several activities that you can participate in as well.

It's important to note that some of my my favorite locations aren't accessible until the end of summer due to the high elevations and snow. But just like Rainier, the North Cascades have tons of locations that we can easily drive to, or do a short hike to.

Snoqualmie Pass

Snoqualmie pass goes through the Cascade mountain range in the middle of Washington state. Along the way there are so many hidden gems it's impossible list them all. There are several activities here including - hiking, climbing, snowmobiling, skiing, and snowshoeing. In the summer and fall you can also see paragliders and hang gliders flying across the valley.

The biggest draw to this location is its accessibility, it sits at a lower elevation making it available to visitors year-round. A quick drive from Seattle or even from Eastern, WA gives you mountain views, evergreen trees, waterfalls and mountain lakes.

The Olympic Peninsula

Olympic National Park is on the Western side of Washington state. It is home to rainforests, mountain peaks and surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. The Hoh Rainforest can be found in the Olympic Peninsula as well as views of Hurricane Ridge.

The Washington Coast

Some of my favorite places to elope in Washington include all the beaches that dot the west coast. A beach elopement in Washington is absolutely epic. There are so many different atmospheres and ambiences a coastal wedding can create. During the summer months you might get some really beautiful sunsets giving you warmer tones. And on the other side, rainier months in Washington you might give you a darker/moodier vibe.

There are a ton of beaches - many are hidden gems and uncrowded! I would be happy to help you find a secret spot for your elopement. Washington beaches are covered in driftwood, darker sand and lined with evergreen trees. Some beaches out here are on reservation land and require even more additional permitting, so that's something to talk to me about prior to choosing your location!
