Chateau Lill Wedding

Chateau Lill in Woodinville, Washington might just be the perfect venue. Nestled in the heart of Woodinville Wine Country, Chateau Lill blends the charm of a French countryside estate with the modern amenities couples want for a seamless, unforgettable wedding day.

As a wedding photographer in Washington, Chateau Lill is one of my absolute favorite venues to photograph. It has a way of feeling both luxurious and relaxed—like you’ve escaped to Europe, but just 30 minutes from Seattle.

Chateau Lill is surrounded by vineyards, manicured lawns, and a pond with white swans—it’s truly one of the dreamiest settings in Washington. Ceremonies typically take place on the lush lawn with the chateau as the backdrop, creating an elegant, picture-perfect view for you and your guests.

It also has Versatile Reception Options. After your ceremony, you can host an outdoor reception under bistro lights or move inside to the grand tented space for dinner and dancing. The property flows beautifully, which makes for gorgeous photo opportunities everywhere you turn—from vineyard portraits to sunset champagne toasts.

In my own description- I’d give it European-Inspired Architecture & Grounds. From the wrought iron gates to the ivy-covered walls, Chateau Lill has Old World charm that photographs like a dream. You don’t need a ton of extra décor—the venue is already full of character and elegance.

Chateau Lill is located in Woodinville, Washington (14300 NE 145th St, Woodinville, WA 98072) just northeast of Seattle. It’s part of the region’s famous wine country, home to over 100 wineries and tasting rooms. This makes it perfect for a wedding weekend destination—guests can enjoy wine tastings, fine dining, and boutique stays just minutes away.

Tips for Planning Your Chateau Lill Wedding

  • Book Early: Chateau Lill is a highly sought-after venue, especially for summer and fall weddings. Definitely do not wait on going to see it in person for a tour and book it early!

  • Plan for Golden Hour: Build in 20-30 minutes for portraits just before sunset—it’s always worth it. We don’t need a ton of time but that light in the vineyard only hits like that for a small window!

  • Leverage the Venue’s Natural Beauty: You can go minimal with décor and still have a wedding that looks like it’s straight out of a magazine.

  • Make It a Weekend Experience: Woodinville has incredible restaurants, wine tours, and boutique hotels—your guests will love it.

As a photographer, if I were getting married at Chataeu Lill, here’s what I would do! I’d absolutely stay in Woodinville for the entire weekend with all of my people with wine tastings and brunches- a weekend for this event would be a must! I’d also definitely get ready on site at the Chataeu- it makes the entire day easier plus I won’t have to lose momentum in the day between getting ready and portraits because I’ll already be there! I’d get married in the lawn, but I’d tour the venue ahead of time during my ceremony time to see where the light will be! This lawn is beautiful, but it gets tricky mid day. To get the BEST and most evenly lit ceremony (for photos) I’d plan a trip to see where the shadows are hitting at my ceremony time and rotate my arbor from there! I’d for sure bring in tons of loose, relaxed florals to compliment the venue and outdoor space. I’d use the cocktail lawn for fun guest experiences and a bar. And would use the reception tent as intended- with florals and long detailed tables. I’d make sure to block in sunset photos (I’d probably pencil them about 30-40 minutes before the scheduled sunset) and I’d move the dance party inside to end the night, with a disco ball (yup- I’m extra) and a killer playlist.

A + K’s wedding day at Chateau Lill was one I’ll forever LOVE. They got married in July during a heat wave that was coming through the area. Their day crept into the 90’s! After getting ready, we did a first look up under the trees- we found ourselves ducking into little shaded spots all day trying to keep cool. They held their ceremony on the lawn and it was sweet and emotional and filled with laughs and happy tears. Guests then headed to the cocktail lawn where they had umbrellas propped, a bar ready to servce, a puzzle of their dog who couldn’t be there that guests really enjoyed completing. As avid golf fans they brought in a mini putt putt golf course- each hole designed to represent an important milestone of their relationship (first date, where he proposed, etc!) SO CUTE!

Their reception tent was immaculate. Florals strung from the ceiling, waterfalling from tables, tucked beautifully into centerpieces. Dinnerware, linens, place cards all artfully arranged. The reception space was truly BEAUTIFUL.

Sunset in the orchard is truly gorgeous. The sun creeps through the trees in a golden glow and it was the perfect opportunity to step out from the party and have some fresh air for a minute. At this point in their evening, their dance floor was alive and well and we could hear the music and party continuing on in the background. They said they were ready for a quick breather to step away for a minute together and welcomed the time to just be together during sunset. Following this we headed right back inside to finish out their party and send off!

Chateau Lill is one of those venues that feels straight out of a storybook—and your wedding photos deserve to reflect that magic. Whether you love the winery feel, European style architecture or just want a space that feels beautiful and easy for a wedding day- you can’t go wrong with this venue!
