BAILEY AND KELLEN’S BACKYARD WEDDING

I feel like I had a good share of backyard wedding’s this past summer that are way more AMAZING than your stereotypical “backyard wedding”. For example, Bailey and Kellen’s wedding. They got married in the backyard of Bailey’s grandparents house. When I met them at their engagement session, Bailey described this place to me and when I showed up the day of, it did not disappoint. It was the PERFECT venue. Bailey is a wedding photographer too, and she dreamt of getting married right in front of this big tree, where she hung a super rad macrame hanging piece and small copper geometric hangings with flowers in them. She had over 200 antique wooden chairs full of her favorite people on the planet and this ceremony was completely their style- full of just as many heartfelt moments as it was laughs. Their reception took place on the same property, with long wooden tables surrounding a dance floor with string lights. There was a live band, some amazing toasts, a crazy amount of smirnoff ice, and some epic dance moves. EVERY piece of the wedding was a result of Bailey’s insane creativity, and with the help of her family and friends who brought those ideas to life. Their guests pitched tents and danced until the moon was well over their heads. It was SUCH a fun wedding and I feel so lucky to have been able to capture it.

Jaki and Trevor Wine and Roses Wedding

I’ve always said that my dream clients are kind and goodhearted people. Literally from day 1- that is who I want to work with, that is who I want to serve. Jaki and Trevor are those people. I’ve known Jaki since highschool, we played basketball together and were good friends throughout those years. When she came to me about her wedding, my heart exploded. When I finally got to meet Trevor, on their engagement shoot, I couldn’t have picked a better person for my friend Jaki to get to do life with. He is kind, and smart, and takes her on adventures! If you didn’t see their engagement session, you will want to here: PART 1 and PART 2 (yup, so good they had TWO posts about it) Their wedding was nothing short of the amazing day I imagined it would be- they were surrounded by their family and closest friends, she wore a flower crown, her mom made their cake, they got down with a food truck, there was crowd surfing and a wild dance floor, and they exited their wedding with a lavender toss. IT WAS A REALLY. REALLY. REALLY. GOOD. DAY. My heart is so full from this wedding, and I am so grateful to have been able to witness it, capture it, and be along for the ride. Cheers to J + T!

Aubree and Jeff Olympic Peninsula Wedding

Aubree and Jeff got married out on his parent’s property on the Olympic Peninsula. I remember when the booked me for this, they told me the city, I looked it up- it’s a small town. My expectations for this “backyard wedding” were completely blown out of the water. His parent’s live on acres and acres of gorgeous PNW land that overlook sound and are surrounded by evergreen trees and mountains (yes, I would like to move there too- it’s freaking gorgeous) They had the most perfect day for this, with mostly clouds and some sunshine during their reception. They brought in a dance floor and strung lights, there was cake, there was dancing, and there was SO MUCH LOVE. I am completely obsessed with these two as individuals, their families are the kindest, and I’m over the moon about them as a married couple. They are beautiful inside and out! Congrats A + J!
